Rafting Field Trip

 Rafting Field Trip

By Sean

When I hopped out of the van I got super excited because it was my first time rafting. The Kenai River looked like a beautiful turquoise snake. I was also looking forward to seeing a salmon swimming in the river or an eagle on its nest. Also, I hoped to see a bear catching a fish.

Then we got in our raft, called the Orca. Christie, the person who paddled, untied the raft from the dock.  Christie sat on the cooler started paddling. At first it was calm but later on, we hit some rapids. Every once in a while, we would see a bald eagle or it’s nest. In a little while, huge, red sockeye salmon were in front of our raft. We also saw Dall sheep on the mountain. Seeing the animals made me wish that I brought my camera so I could take some great pictures of them. Remember when I said I wanted to see a bear? All we saw was a lost teddy bear.

“Gross!” I said, as Connor was drinking water from the River. “Fish go to the bathroom in there!” “It tastes fine.” Conner said. I thought, I still won’t be surprised if he isn’t at school tomorrow.

After that, we spotted a little rocky area to have lunch on. I opened up my lunchbox hungrily to see what I had for lunch. Because I was so hungry, I ate my jelly sandwich in a few gigantic bites. It was nice eating outside when I could see the river. When I finished my lunch, I put away my lunchbox and spotted seven dead, smelly, rotting salmon near shore.

After we got back on the raft, we started playing bumper rafts which was like bumper cars only with rafts. I got dizzy because we were spinning around a lot. But it was fun.

After playing bumper rafts, Christie let us paddle. When it was my turn, I thought that it would be as easy as paddling a kayak but I had to push harder. In a little while, we got closer and closer to shore until we were out of the water. Then I got back in the van and we drove back to school. In the van, I thought that was the best field trip I was ever on.

 THE END

My Prediction About The Indian in the Cupboard

Summary:

Omri has a birthday party and Patrick gives him a plastic Indian and Gillion gives him a cupboard. His mom gives him a fancy key and Omri puts the Indian in the cupboard and then when he takes him out he was alive.  Then he lets the Indian choose a horse and he makes the horse alive.

Prediction:

Omri will let the Indian gallop all over his room and his parents will hear the Indian and take him away from Omri. Omri will try to get him back. When he tries to get the Indian back, the cupboard and key will be taken away also. When he goes to school he can’t do his work because he keeps thinking about the things that had been taken away from him.
